During a bout of covid in April 2022, I was isolated in my bedroom for 4 or 5 days. I watched various films and programmes including the first in the series of The Misinvestigations of Romesh Ranganathan, where Ranganathan attempts to resolve the mysterious death of Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix was found dead in a Notting Hill flat in September 1970 and I was intrigued by this story and started looking back at old recordings of Hendrix on YouTube. This painting was inspired by a still from a film of Hendrix playing his guitar while he preformed Are You Experienced.
